(((Hello)))
I’m Sam Hinds. I’m a scholar and writer, poet and imaginal journeyer, and explorer of emerging cultural edges of collective communion. I’m also a psychotherapist and presently serve as adjunct faculty at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Creating this website has been a devotional act, a braiding together of disparate threads weaving me through multiple contexts and evolving webs of relationships strewn between worlds—a deliberate gesture toward living from greater wholeness. Such growth toward unrestrained expressiveness is something I wish for all individuals.
My intention is to emit the signal of a life’s star*** in service of “finding the others”—those individuals I may work with on the basis of a shared sense of resonance, whether that be in a psychotherapeutic relationship, through explorations in Communal Reverie, or as part of a collaborative endeavor.
Do feel free to meander around and follow any golden threads that sing to you…
* “The soul that rises with us, our life's Star, Hath had elsewhere its setting, And cometh from afar.” — Wordsworth
** “The star ripens from the morrow.” — Mallarmé

“She who reconciles the ill-matched threads
of her life, and weaves them gratefully into a single cloth–
it’s she who drives the loudmouths from the hall
and clears it for a different celebration
where the one guest is you.
In the softness of the evening
it’s you she receives.”
