And Here They Are

The world sloshed in a blurred tide of goldfoam

Lightwound spewing tears from between the ribs

Mirroring where Christ took that awful spear

For angels to fill their cup runnover red

Warmgold beerlight, ancestral wounds

“This is where you broke off”

They once said, riddletonguetied,

While you watched the blondebraid sever and fall

Into a drunken mud of darkened sludge,

Ancient swamp of drowned ambitions

Seeking, begging you to overcome

And rise to heights they couldn’t reach

Crying, crying from the weeping pore

Gangrenous with generational neglect

Pleading you to stop, silence the barreling numbdrive

And let the body howl with deadscreams

Faces blurred, you never knew

And here they are

Black and white

Staring you down
