The Chapel Bell

Why do I hesitate
To call out and tell you
Just how I long
To place my every word and gesture
In service of the liturgy you've crafted...

Yet, however I have tried,
I still fail to dim the swarming noise
Deafening my ears to your silent speech...

And how dare I ask
That you raise your voice
Or seize my limbs to set them on their course...

Even when I can nearly taste
Knowing that my plea
Flowers from that purest fountain
Shimmering, darkly...

A diamond you've hidden in my heart...
